All roads lead to the first-ever Tagaytay Food and Wine Festival!

Unforgettable culinary adventures and a few more exciting dinners are happening in the second summer capital of The Philippines!

I had a great time in Tagaytay over the weekend, as I didn't want to miss out on attending the first-ever Tagaytay Food and Wine Festival!

This festival is a significant initiative to continue highlighting Filipinos' best food and drink, and it is supported by the Department of Tourism and the Office of Senator Loren Legarda.

The event's highlight was the Grand Tasting held at Anya Resort Tagaytay on July 12, featuring some of the best local chefs and concepts. This grand event provided attendees from the public sector, foodies, and Tagaytay business communities with an exclusive opportunity to preview upcoming restaurants, new ideas, and beloved Tagaytay favorites.

Notable chefs and concepts included:

  • Chris Leaning - Anya Resort

  • Jayme Natividad - Taal Vista

  • View Park Hotel's Siglo Restaurant

  • Rhea SyCip - Flour Pot Bistro & Bakery

  • Aniela Tolentino - Binulo and Papa Bolo Microbrewery

  • Robby Goco - Elaia by Cyma

  • Happy Ongpauco-Tiu - Pamana and Tsokolateria

  • Tristan Bayani - Ribchon

  • Dan Puga - Lula Cafe

  • Kalel Chan - Farmers Table

  • Binggoy Remedios - Asador by Dos Mestizos

  • Reynaldo's Steakhouse

  • Aniela Tolentino - Binulo and Papa Bolo Microbrewery

  • Slow Food Community from Cavite

Following the Grand Tasting, The Fatted Calf Chefs and owners Jay Jay and Rhea Sycip (who also chair Tagaytay Food and Wine Festival) and Pilgrim Davao's Jeramie Go served a delightful Harvest Dinner.

The lovely 6-course dinner showcased local ingredients such as kesong puti from Cavite; cherry tomatoes, Chong-ak rice, and kiniing from Benguet; as well as Philippine wild raspberries called sampinit; sikwate chocolate, and tablea.

In addition, it also featured ingredients from other countries, including Kaluga Queen caviar, peaches, sorrel, and orange blossoms, paired with wines from Spain, Chile, Australia, and the US, creating a global culinary experience that connects us all.

Aside from the kick-off events, the Tagaytay Food and Wine Festival will feature other exciting events such as 'Luxe at 180 Degrees' on July 20 at 180° by Chef Sau del Rosario and a Heritage Buffet on July 21 at Veranda Restaurant, Taal Vista Hotel.

Moreover, the festival promises an upcoming Creative Bulalo event at Tagaytay Picnic Grove in September, offering an immersive and creative dining experience.

The festival successfully showcased Tagaytay's rich culinary heritage and provided a platform for local and international chefs to come together and celebrate the art of food and wine. With its diverse range of events and activities, the Tagaytay Food and Wine Festival has undoubtedly established itself as a must-attend event for food and wine enthusiasts.
